Scoring and Composition

Lobster Doctor (2022)

- Directed by Jay Davis

- Score by Harrison Hanneman

This film was another work from my class where sound design students are paired with animation students to provide sound design and scoring for their animated film. Lobster Doctor was described as a title sequence for a fictional drama television show, with the feel of a 60's spy film, requiring a short yet effective title theme. The director desired a moody yet bombastic jazz feel, yielding a wide variety of instruments ranging from guitar, bass, drum, piano, horns, winds, etc.

(Midi instruments composed in Abelton, Guitar and Bass recorded in Pro Tools, mixed in Pro Tools)

The Gift That Keeps On Giving (2022)

- Directed By Jennie Weaver

- Score and Sound Design by Harrison Hanneman

This film proved a very interesting task as it was part of a class where I was grouped a random group of people, and had to make a full short film within 2 weeks. I was able to create the score and sound design within a day due to the tight production schedule, but was still able to create a soundtrack that helped bring the film to life. Another fun challenge with this film was working within a holiday genre which prompted me to explore different instrumentations and chord progressions in order to capture the correct feeling.

Lemonheads Comercial (2022)

-Score by Harrison Hanneman

-This project was assigned with the prompt that we had to create a soundtrack for this 30-second ad after the audio has been stripped away. This meant all aspects consisting of SFX, Dialogue, and Music, all while fitting into standard commercial specifications. For this clip, I did foley for a number of sounds such as the hockey puck, hockey sticks, and ice skates. For the short snippet of dialogue, I had to do some ADR work and ensure that the voices fit the environment and matched the lip movements. Lastly, then I composed the music for the ad in order to give a vibrant and competitive feel to the ad.

Kidnapping (2022)

- Directed by Nico Atler

- Score by Harrison Hanneman

- Sound by Brianna Smith

I wrote the score for this film with the task of creating a score that blurs the line between music and sound design, making for a score that creates a lingering sense of fear and suspense. I played with many different synth sounds, playing into the Sci-Fi feel of the film. (Composed in Ableton and mixed in Pro Tools)
